Fashion Discount Codes & Offers

Fashion covers clothing, shoes and accessories for women, men and children. You'll find high-street chains, department stores and online-only brands here. Discount codes turn up more often in fashion than almost anywhere else, because ranges change several times a year.

Most fashion retailers give new customers a welcome code for joining their newsletter or downloading the app. The deepest reductions come in the end-of-season sales, which start in late December and again in early summer. Black Friday and mid-season events fill the gaps. Student discounts are common too and usually run all year.

How to save on fashion

  • Check the returns policy first

Some online fashion brands now take a fee from your refund when you send items back by post. If you plan to order two sizes and return one, that fee can cancel out the saving from a code. Returning in store or at a collection point is often still free.

  • Does the code cover sale items?

Many fashion codes exclude reduced lines, new-season collections or named designer brands. Add everything to your basket and apply the code before you assume it covers the lot. If only part of the order qualifies, splitting it into two orders can work out cheaper.

  • Wait for the end of the season

Coats, boots and partywear are cheapest once their season is over, not at the start. If you can hold off, the January and summer clearances usually beat any code you'll find in October or April. A stock alert on an item will tell you when your size drops in price.

  • Is free delivery worth the extra item?

Delivery thresholds tempt you to add a filler item you hadn't planned to buy. Compare the delivery charge with the cost of that extra piece before adding it. Paying for delivery is often the cheaper choice.

  • Student and young-person discounts

Plenty of fashion retailers offer a standing student discount through UNiDAYS or Student Beans. A few extend a similar rate to anyone aged 16 to 26, whether or not they study. These rarely combine with other codes, so check which saves more before you pay.

Fashion FAQs

Is a newsletter sign-up code worth it?

Usually, for a first order, if you don't mind marketing emails. Most welcome codes are single-use, need a minimum spend and leave out sale items. You can unsubscribe once you've used it.

Why won't my fashion discount code work?

The usual reasons are an expired code, a basket below the minimum spend or excluded items in the basket. Some codes are also limited to new customers or to the app. Check the terms shown with the code and try removing reduced items.

Are fashion delivery passes worth buying?

Several online fashion retailers sell an annual pass that covers delivery, and sometimes returns, for a year. It pays for itself if you order more than a handful of times. For occasional orders, free click and collect is usually the better option.

Can I get money back if something goes into the sale after I buy it?

A few retailers will refund the difference if an item is reduced soon after you buy it, but most won't. If yours doesn't, you can sometimes return the unworn item and buy it again at the sale price. Check the returns terms first, as fees may apply.
