How Discount Code works
Three steps from finding a retailer to a lower total at checkout, plus what each label on an offer means.

Three steps to using a code
Find your retailer
Search by name using the box at the top of any page. You can also browse the A–Z store list or start from a category.
Choose a code or deal
Each retailer page lists its codes and deals. Check the end date, minimum spend and exclusions before you pick one.
Use it at checkout
For a code, click Reveal code, copy it and paste it into the promo box on the retailer's site. For a deal, click Get deal and the saving applies without a code.
What do the labels on each offer mean?
Every offer card carries labels so you can see what it is at a glance.
Code or Deal
A Code needs to be entered at checkout. A Deal works without one, such as a sale, a free delivery threshold or a member price.
Student and NHS
These offers need you to prove your status through a scheme such as UNiDAYS, Student Beans, TOTUM or Blue Light Card.
Checked
Someone on our team has confirmed the offer worked on the date shown. Offers without this label haven't been tested individually.
Ends
This is the end date the retailer or network gave us. If we don't know one, the card says so.
Sample
This label only appears while the site is being set up. Sample offers are examples, not live promotions.
Why might a code not work?
Retailers can change or end a promotion at any time. Most codes also have conditions, such as a minimum spend, excluded brands or a limit of one code per order. If a code is rejected, check those conditions and make sure it hasn't expired. Our guide to why voucher codes fail covers the common causes.
How do we keep offers up to date?
Every offer is stored with the date we added it and, if known, its end date. Expired offers are removed automatically each time the site updates. When a shopper tells us a code isn't working, we check it and update or remove it. Our editorial policy explains this in more detail.
