Editorial policy

How offers get onto the site, how we label them and when they come off.

Where do our offers come from?

We find offers in retailer newsletters and websites, affiliate network feeds, public adverts and codes sent in by shoppers. Each offer is saved with the retailer, the type of offer, the date we added it and, where supplied, its end date and conditions.

How do we label offers?

Code and Deal

These tell you whether you need to enter a code at checkout.

Checked

This means someone on our team confirmed the offer worked on the date shown. We add it by hand and never by default. Offers without it are listed as supplied and haven't been tested individually.

Exclusive

We only use this when a retailer or network has given us the offer as exclusive in writing.

Sample

This marks example data used while the site is being set up. Sample offers never appear on the live site.

When do offers come off the site?

Offers with an end date are removed automatically once that date passes. Offers with no known end date are labelled as such and reviewed from time to time. If a shopper reports a code that no longer works, we check it and update or remove it.

How are our guides written?

Our savings guides are written to help you make better decisions. They aren't sponsored. We use worked examples with illustrative figures rather than claims about live offers. When we mention consumer law, we describe the general position and point you to official sources such as Citizens Advice. Each guide shows when it was published and is updated when things change.

Does money affect what we publish?

No. Affiliate commission doesn't affect whether an offer is listed, where it appears or how we describe it. Retailers can't pay for a "Checked" label or for better wording. Our affiliate disclosure explains how commission works.

How can you report a mistake?

If you spot something wrong, please contact us. We correct factual errors as soon as we've confirmed them.
