Trainline Discount Codes & Offers
Trainline sells train and coach tickets for every UK operator, plus many European routes, through one website and app. The main ways to save are Railcards, Advance fares and its SplitSave feature, as discount codes are infrequent.

About Trainline
Trainline is an independent ticket retailer rather than a train operator. It sells tickets for every UK rail company and major coach services, plus trains in several European countries. You can compare times and prices in one search, store e-tickets on your phone and get live journey updates.
Trainline usually adds a small booking fee to UK tickets, which is shown before you pay. The fare itself is the same as buying from the operator. Refunds and changes depend on the ticket type and are requested through your account or the app.
Other ways to save at Trainline
Railcards
Railcards such as the 16-25, 26-30, Senior, Two Together and Family & Friends cards cut the price of most off-peak fares for a year. Trainline sells digital Railcards. The discount applies when you add the card to your search.
Advance tickets
Advance fares for a specific train are usually released weeks ahead and are the cheapest way to travel on longer routes. They are tied to that train and are non-refundable.
SplitSave
Trainline's SplitSave feature checks whether splitting your journey into several tickets is cheaper. You do not need to change trains. The option appears in search results where it applies.
Ticket alerts
You can set an alert in the app to hear when Advance tickets are released for your route. Booking soon after release gives you the best chance of a cheap fare.
Off-peak travel
Travelling outside peak hours is usually much cheaper. Off-Peak and Super Off-Peak tickets often cost far less than Anytime fares on the same route.
What to check before using a code
Trainline discount codes are infrequent and usually apply to something specific, such as a first app booking, a Railcard or coach travel. They typically need an account, work once and cannot be combined with other promotions. Advance tickets bought with a code are still non-refundable. Booking fees may still apply, and some codes exclude season tickets and European journeys.
Trainline FAQs
Can I get a refund on a Trainline ticket?
Advance tickets are generally non-refundable but can often be changed for a fee. Flexible tickets can normally be refunded through your account, less an administration charge.
Is there a Trainline student discount?
There is no separate Trainline student discount. Students aged 16 to 25, and mature students in full-time education, can buy a 16-25 Railcard through Trainline to reduce fares.
Does Trainline offer an NHS discount?
Trainline does not run a dedicated NHS discount at the time of writing. A Railcard is usually the most reliable way to cut regular fares.
Do I need to print my Trainline ticket?
Most UK journeys can use an e-ticket on your phone. Some routes still need paper tickets collected from a station machine, and the app shows which type you have.
Can I buy a season ticket on Trainline?
Yes, Trainline sells season tickets for many UK routes, including some flexi season tickets. Discount codes usually exclude them.
Where do these Trainline offers come from?
We collect offers from Trainline's own promotions, affiliate network feeds and codes sent in by shoppers. Each offer shows when we added it and, if we know it, when it ends. Offers disappear from this page once they expire.
We only mark an offer as checked when someone on our team has tested it, and we show the date they did. Anything else is listed as supplied and could change without notice. Some links earn us a small commission, which never affects the price you pay. Our editorial policy and affiliate disclosure explain more.
